Energy Policy Council

Mission

The Energy Policy Council (EPC) is North Carolina’s central energy policy planning body, working with federal, state, regional and local agencies to develop and coordinate energy policy, and make appropriate reports and recommendations to the governor and General Assembly.  The goal is to help North Carolina achieve maximum effective management and use of present and future sources of energy, through policies for energy exploration, efficiency, energy management, an emergency energy program, energy research and development, research and development of renewable and alternative sources of energy, and improvements to the state's energy infrastructure and energy economy.
