Pump InstallationThe Well Contractor Certification Rules require that a certified well contractor must be present when performing well contractor activities. Well contractor activities are defined as "the construction, installation, repair, alteration, or abandonment of any well." [G.S. 87-98.2] This includes breaking the well seal to gain access to the well, disinfection which is required after pump installation or repair, extending well casing, well abandonment, hydrofracturing, well repair and construction.
